THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE FINISHED WORKS OF JESUS

Imagine there’s a severe famine in your area and you hear that there’s going to be a free food supply from a humanitarian organisation. That would be good news, right? But the best news is when the promise of free food supply is fulfilled. The life changing thing is not the promise, it’s the fulfilment of the promise. When Christ was on the cros, he cried ” it is finished”. His works was done. The Good news of the gospel is in the finished works of Christ.

Jesus told us to preach the gospel which means good news. Jesus never told us to preach facts, he told us to preach good news. It may be a fact that you’re weak but the good news is that christ is your strength. The good news always points to Jesus and his finished works. The good news will tell you how God chose to value you with the very life of christ. The good news tells you the fact that your sins have been paid for on the cross. The good news doesn’t point your weakness but points you to christ through who that weakness can be turned into a perfection. The good news will always show you the unconditional love God has for you which is revealed to us through the cross (Romans 5:8)

The Good news doesn’t say you’re weak but it says christ is your strenght. It doesn’t you’re a sinner but it says christ is your righteousness. It doesn’t judge your sins on you but it’s points the fact that all your sins were judged upon Jesus on the cross. The Gospel is the good news So keep preaching the good news and unveiling the beauty of Christ and showing the world the great love God has for them because the more we look to Jesus and fix our eyes on him, the more we’re transformed into his image (2 corinthians 3:18)
