Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
1 John:3:1 WEB

The opening verse tells us that we are God’s children. You’re a son/daughter of the living God. That’s amazing. It means, we have the ‘father-child’ relationship with God. A ‘father-child’ relationship is different from a ‘Master- servant’ relationship. Most believers think christianity is a ‘master-servant’ relationship, where God gives us commands and things to do and that’s it. This mindset hinders you from seeing the care and love God has for you. God loves us so much and we have we should have the confidence of falling back to the hands of our loving father, who is full of love, mercy and grace even when we’ve fallen short. We are his children.Today we stand justified before God through our faith in Jesus christ because he took our sin and our punishment and he was judged on our place, so that you and I might have right standing with God. (2 Corinthians 5:21). You’re in a right standing with God believer.

Now, the devil will always try to rob you this truth. He’ll try to make you doubt your right standing with God. He’ll try to make you think that you’re not a child of God. When the devil tempted Jesus three times, the recurring phrase was; “if you’re the son of God..“. My friend, you’re a child of God and you don’t need to prove yourself to anyone. You’re the beloved child of God. God cares for you, keep that in mind. You aren’t and ordinary person, you’re a son/daughter of the King.

Be assured that God loves you by always looking to the cross (Romans 5:8)

_You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this same day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall you observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever._
_Exodus:12:17 WEB_

God told the israelites that they had to observe the feast of unleavened bread (passover feast) because it was when the lord brought them out egypt where they were made slaves. This act acted as a reminder of God’s graciousness towards the israelites, a reminder of the salvation the lord had Brought to the israelites.
God had specifically told them to kill a male lamb without any blemish, and they had apply the blood of the lamb on the door posts of their houses. *(a picture of christ and his shed blood on the cross) When the angel of the lord passed that night, the houses of the israelites were spared while those of the egyptians weren’t. A male child from each night died and pharaoh let them go that same night.

Today you can apply this concept in your life Today. The perfect lamb Jesus Christ offered him self as a sin sacrifice for you and me so that we can have right standing with God. (2 corinthians 5:21) Romans 5:8 and John 3:16 tells us that the cross is a clear picture of God’s love for us.

Titus 3:4-5 says; ” But when the kindness of God, our Savior, and his love toward man, appeared, not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.”

Because of his great love he saved us, so today remind yourself the love of God has for you. Through the salvation you’ve received, see your value in christ. Remind yourself of how God values you and loves you, Knowing his love never fails and his grace never ends. Make it a daily practice. The more you do so, the more you’ll be conscious of our loving God and his nature of love.

Remember the salvation of the lord

as newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby,
1 Peter:2:2 WEB

Somethings come with Growth. You can’t expect a newly born baby to be eating and doing things on it’s own. It will be fed, and someone will be there to take care of it. As it grows up, there are things that the baby will start doing with no one’s supervision. Food is what nourishes the baby and makes it grow.

Many new believers (born again in christ) are struggling with all their efforts to do somethings that they should be a result of Growth. You see, trees don’t struggle to produce fruits but as they grow, they’ll produce fruits and as long as it receives good fertiliser, the quality of fruits will be good. So stop struggling and start feeding on God’s word today. It’s what guides you and define you. The word of God is like a seed and when sown in a heart, with patience, it will produce God kind of results in due time.

The message that gives you a good foundation is the message of the cross where God’s love and grace were revealed. We’ve been given a free gift of right standing with God so here is where we need to be rooted. Feed on the message of God’s love (the cross) and see your life transformed.

As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him, rooted and built up in him, and established in your faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.

Whatever situation you’re in believer, one thing is surely true and that is God loves you and he values you as he values Jesus. The cross reveals your true value in God’s sight. Through Christ you stand right with God. So focus on Jesus and grow in his word and changes will happen for you as you grow in the word.

Don’t struggle, grow in God’s word

He said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.
Mark:16:15 WEB

Imagine there’s a severe famine in your area and you hear that there’s going to be a free food supply from a humanitarian organisation. That would be good news, right? But the best news is when the promise of free food supply is fulfilled. The life changing thing is not the promise, it’s the fulfilment of the promise. When Christ was on the cros, he cried ” it is finished”. His works was done. The Good news of the gospel is in the finished works of Christ.

Jesus told us to preach the gospel which means good news. Jesus never told us to preach facts, he told us to preach good news. It may be a fact that you’re weak but the good news is that christ is your strength. The good news always points to Jesus and his finished works. The good news will tell you how God chose to value you with the very life of christ. The good news tells you the fact that your sins have been paid for on the cross. The good news doesn’t point your weakness but points you to christ through who that weakness can be turned into a perfection. The good news will always show you the unconditional love God has for you which is revealed to us through the cross (Romans 5:8)

The Good news doesn’t say you’re weak but it says christ is your strenght. It doesn’t you’re a sinner but it says christ is your righteousness. It doesn’t judge your sins on you but it’s points the fact that all your sins were judged upon Jesus on the cross. The Gospel is the good news So keep preaching the good news and unveiling the beauty of Christ and showing the world the great love God has for them because the more we look to Jesus and fix our eyes on him, the more we’re transformed into his image (2 corinthians 3:18)

And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter:4:8 WEB

God is love ( 1 John 4:16) and he desires his children to walk in love. Our heavenly father desires to see his children loving one another, showing each other grace, compassion of Christ and lifting each other up and building each other by Gracious words ( Ephesians 4:29)

Have you ever seen parents who want their children to fight all the time? I believe there isn’t any. Our heavenly father who is a better father than all human fathers, wants his children to walk in love.

Since our heavenly father desires us to walk in love, he decided to put his love in us. Romans 5:5 says “……..God’s love has been poured out into our hearts by the holyghost which was given to us.” That means God’s love is in you believer and you can decide to walk in love. It’s not a struggle, it’s natural for true believers to love.

God also doesn’t want us to think every idea we have about love is true. So God’s word reveals true love was demonstrated by christ on the cross when he gave his life for us. (Romans 5:8) Jesus himself said, ” …love one another, even as I have loved you”(John 13:34) That means christ and his finished works is the love we are to love one another with, and that love is deposited in your heart as long as you are a true believer in Christ. Let’s show one another grace, mercy, compassion and let’s lift and build each other up, and correcting each other in a way of love.

Choose to walk in love

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
1 John:4:10 WEB

We live in a world that has one basic principle and that is “work to earn”. This is everywhere. In schools we work hard to earn good grades. At work, we work to earn money for our daily uses. It’s all about us doing something to get something. This principle may work everywhere, but not when it comes to God loving you. Many people try to earn God’s love and favor by their right doing. That’s not how it works.

The opening scripture says, “..not that we loved God, but he loved us…” That means his love for us doesn’t depend on us loving him, actually he’s the one who started loving us even when we didn’t love him. With his unconditional love for us, he sent Christ to die for our sin. HE LOVES US BECAUSE HE IS LOVE (1 john 4:16)

The good news is, God loves you with all our imperfections and your sins, and for that reason he sent christ to die for your sins so that you might be made right with God. What humanity did was sin and what he did was save through the death of our lord Jesus Christ because he so love Us. So it’s not about what you do, it’s about what he has done for you on the cross, taking away all your sins that you may be made right with God (1 corinthians 5:21)

Don’t live trying to make God love you. He does love you. He gave his life for you. Start thinking him for his love for you and ask him to reveal his love to you.

#You don’t need to earn or deserve God’s love, you just need to receive it.

But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation;namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians:5:18-19 WEB

The opening scripture tells us that God has given us ‘the ministry of reconciliation.’ Now it doesn’t say a ministry of reconciliation but it says the ministry of reconciliation. That means there’s a specific ministry of reconciliation and that is the one which God through christ reconciled us to himself. We’ve been given a ministry of reconciliation and not of condemnation and judgment.

Isn’t that good news that God wants to reconcile you to himself? Yes it is. The bible says that God through christ was reconciling the world to himself by not reckoning to them their trespasses/sins. God isn’t holding your sins against you today. This is because all your sins were charged on Jesus. Jesus who knew no sin was made sin for us so that we might be made right with God (2 corinthians 5:21) He took your rightful punishment because your sins were charged on him. Today you stand righteous and justified in the eyes of God freely because of your faith in Jesus. If you truly believe in Jesus, these things are true for you. It’s the heart of our loving father that sent christ to die for us so that we might be reconciled to him.

God has shown us a great love and he wants us to let the world know that through christ, all their sins can be washed away if they put their faith in Jesus. God wants the world to know that he loves them. So it is upon us now, to preach the good news about our loving saviour Jesus christ.

He’s a God of love who wants his children to know that he loves them and are reconciled to him. YOU’VE IN YOUR HANDS, THE MINISTRY OF RECONSILIATION
